New Orleans Saints Own the NFL’s Second-Best Points Per Game Average (28.2) Since 2006

period.
In that span, the black-and-gold have scored 20 or more points in 92 games (82.1%) and 30 or more points in 53 (47.3%). Three of the franchise’s top five single-game point totals have occurred since Head Coach Sean Payton’s arrival in 2006.
In 2012, the Saints finished the season ranked first in the NFC and third in the NFL averaging 28.8 points per game, scoring at least 20 points in all but two contests and coming off of outputs of 41, 34 and 38 points to close out the season.
