NFL Network’s Michelle Beisner did a number of features last week promoting New Orleans and its culture. Beisner showcased New Orleans’ Mardi Gras World, made beignets with S Roman Harper and attended a Treme Brass Band performance with DB Jabari Greer. She spoke with NewOrleansSaints.com about her experience in the Crescent City:
How has your time been in New Orleans?
“My role down here was to give everybody a backstage pass and to be sort of a travel guide with everything you could do and see. There are some very monumental things to do.”
How was baking beignets with Roman?
“We went to Café Du Monde and it wasn’t my first time making beignets. I did it on a previous show. Roman is such a great guy and he hung in there and got his hands dirty. He was in the dough and really having fun with it.”
You attended a Treme Brass Band performance with Jabari, how was that?
“What was so cool about Jabari is that he really is a jazz man. He loves it, lives it and breathes it. He asked more questions than I did. He did a little bit of signing too “When the Saints Go Marching In.”
How often do you get to visit New Orleans?
“This is probably my fifth trip down to New Orleans and every time it’s always a great time. It’s always something different. New Orleans is truly one of my favorite cities in the world. I have pretty high expectations for New Orleans and they never disappoint. It’s always a very good time.”
