Drew Brees’ Family and New Orleans Home Featured on CBS’ “Person to Person”

Drew Brees’ family and New Orleans home were featured on CBS News’ primetime special “Person to Person” Friday night.

Drew and Brittany Brees were interviewed by co-hosts Lara Logan and Charlie Rose.

Musician Alicia Keys and Oscar-winning actor and director Sean Penn were also featured on the special.

“Person to Person” gives top newsmakers a chance to talk about what their most important places mean to them and to share their life-changing stories.

“Person to Person” was originally broadcast in 1953 with Edward R. Murrow as the host.

Some nuggets from the Brees family on the special:
*Drew on having three kids: “There’s nothing like being a father. It’s the greatest thing in the world…it puts everything in perspective.”

*Drew said that his foundation will infuse $2 million into New Orleans before the Super Bowl in February.

*Brittany Brees on raising three kids: “I’m having everything Scotchgarded. Come back in like two months there’ll be crayon on the wall and stains on the couches.”

*Drew on New Orleans: “We feel so loyal and so tied to the city. It’s a very unique place. But if you love New Orleans, it’ll love you back”

*Brees spoke very highly of one his childhood heroes Baseball Hall of Famer Ted Williams, it’s why he wears No. 9. Last April, Brees won Ted Williams’ World War II flight log book at an auction.

*Drew said despite being teased as a kid for his birthmark, he never wanted it removed saying “it’s a part of me.”

*The trophies that Drew has won that Brittany is most proud of: Walter Payton Man of the Year Award and Sports Illustrated’ s Sportsman of the Year.

*Drew became pretty emotional when speaking about his grandfather, Ray Aikns, who served in World War II “we owe our lives to them every day.”
