QB Drew Brees Ranks No. 2 in NFL Network’s “The Top 100: Players of 2012″

Posted by NewOrleansSaints.com on 06/28/2012 – 1:53 am

QB Drew Brees ranks No. 2 in NFL Network’s “The Top 100: Players of 2012,” the network announced Wednesday.

Brees was one of five Saints players to make this year’s list including TE Jimmy Graham (No. 14), G Jahri Evans (No. 32), LB Jonathan Vilma (No. 58) and RB Darren Sproles (No. 86).

Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers took the top spot in the rankings.

The countdown of the best 100 players leading into the 2012 season is voted on by the players themselves.

In 2011, Brees set the single-season record for most passing yards with 5,476, eclipsing Dan Marino’s record of 5,084 yards set in 1984. Brees also set the NFL record for completion percentage (71.2) and most completions in a season (468) on his way to be named to the Pro Bowl.

Brees led the NFL with 46 touchdowns passes and an average of 342 passing yards per game. His 110.6 passer rating ranked second in the NFL.

I have to agree in saying that Aaron Rogers, in my book, is over-rated and that Brees is a far better q’back. As you state, “who is the record breaker?”
