2012 NFL Draft
The NFL draft returns to primetime in 2012, with the first round taking place Thurs., April 26, followed by the second and third rounds on Fri., April 27. Rounds 4-7 will be held Sat., April 28.

Happy Birthday to Devery Henderson

Some notes on Henderson:
*Since 2006, Henderson has the 2nd best yds per catch avg. (18.5) in the NFL behind Mike Wallace (18.7).
*Henderson’s career avg. of 18.2 yds per catch is the best in team history.

Brees Advances to Round of 32 in Madden Cover Bracket

cover.
He faces fellow NFC South QB Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons.
Brees graced the cover of Madden NFL 11.

Notes on Colston
Posted by on 03/20/2012 – 10:04 pmThe Saints and WR Marques Colston agreed to terms on a five-year contract last week. Below are some quick notes about the six-year veteran.
*He is tied for second with Eric Martin on the team’s all-time touchdown receptions list with 48 behind Joe Horn (50).
His 48 touchdown receptions is the sixth-highest total in the NFL since 2006 behind Randy Moss (55), Larry Fitzgerald (55), Terrell Owens (52), Antonio Gates (51), Greg Jennings (49) and Calvin Johnson (49).
*He is currently ranked third in the club record books with 449 receptions behind Eric Martin (532) and Joe Horn (523).
*He is third in team history in receiving yards with 6,240 receiving yards behind Eric Martin (7,854) and Joe Horn (7,622).
*He is just one of seven NFL players to record 1,000 receiving yards in five of his first six seasons and is the only Saints player to record a pair of back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons.

New Era Cap Releases Design of New Line of NFL Hats

The hats will be available for purchase on April 1.
The “Official Draft 59FIFTY” is the NFL Draft Day hat for the 2012 NFL draft picks.
New Era Caps agreed to a five-year to be the official on-field cap for the National Football League (NFL) last year.
Under the terms of the agreement, New Era will have exclusive distribution rights and branding for all on-field, sideline and locker room caps, as well as co-exclusive rights for fan headwear worldwide. Beginning April 2012 and running through March 2017, New Era will also produce hats for marquee events, including the NFL Draft Day Cap and the Super Bowl.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome Nominated for Sports Facility of the Year in the 2012 Sports Business Awards
Posted by on 03/19/2012 – 12:12 pmThe Mercedes-Benz Superdome is one of four nominees in the Sports Facility of the Year category for the 2012 Sports Business Awards, the SportsBusiness Journal/Daily announced Monday. 
Along with the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Amway Center, Livestrong Sporting Park and Salt River Fields at Talking Stick were nominated.
The Sports Business Journal announced 77 nominees in 15 categories for the 2012 Sports Business Awards. The winners will receive their awards during a live ceremony on May 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square.
In January, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome hosted The Allstate Sugar Bowl, the BCS college football championship and the NFL Wildcard Playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions. The NCAA’s Men’s Final Four basketball championships (March 31-April 2, 2012) and Super Bowl XLVII (Feb. 3, 2013) will also be held in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
