Brees Wins ‘GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week’

Posted by NewOrleansSaints.com on 09/30/2011 – 6:55 pm

New Orleans Saints quarterback DREW BREES’ orchestration of three second-half TDs is the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK for games played on September 25 – 26, the NFL announced today. The GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK is the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance.

After throwing two interceptions earlier in the game that helped put his team in a 26-17 fourth-quarter hole, Brees threw three second-half touchdowns – two in the final quarter — to send New Orleans surging past the Houston Texans for a dramatic 40-33 comeback victory.

Brees’ performance was selected from among three moments by voters on NFL.com/gmc.  The other two moments were Detroit Lions quarterback MATTHEW STAFFORD’s two second-half touchdown tosses to wide receiver CALVIN JOHNSON in the Lions’ comeback from a 20-0 halftime deficit and Buffalo Bills quarterback RYAN FITZPATRICK engineering of four second-half scoring drives to help the Bills beat the New England Patriots for the first time in 16 chances.

After the regular season, fans will have a chance to determine the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Year, from among the 17 weekly winners.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

who dat!!! looking forward to this week’s matchup with da jags…going be a shootout. Saints look strong on both sides of the ball. We are on a roll and have momentum, hope fully we can go in to jacksoville and get a win withn two divisional oponents the next two weeks. Looking to get some guys back from injury which will help. As long as we play our game stick to our scheme..we shuld be ok…GO SAINTS!!!
